PSL obtains a $8,003,975.18 judgment against Valley Hospital after positive jury verdict
In one of Clark County's the first Plaintiff medical malpractice jury verdicts in the past few years, PSL's client, now 12 year-old little girl, was born with cerebral palsy and severe birth defects. The firm filed a medical negligence suit against Valley Hospital.
The jury found that Valley Hospital was negligent in failing to timely recognize, react and respond to several independent signs of severe fetal distress warranting an emergency cesarean section. As a result, the baby was subjected to sustained and severe fetal distress, causing progressive neurologic damage while in utero, from approximately 8:00 a.m. through 2:26 p.m. Although mom presented to Valley Hospital at approximately 8:00 a.m., with incredible symptoms of distress, the baby was not delivered until 2:26 p.m., via emergency cesarean surgery.
PSL receives another jury verdict and $3,587,421.32 judgment against Walgreen Company.
PSL achieves the largest "slip and fall" jury verdict in Nevada history. PSL's client entered a local Walgreen a fell on a blue liquid. The fall caused the need for multiple surgeries, lost of income and other related damages.
During trial PSL attorney's elicited store policies during cross-examination. Under oath, the truth came out. A Defendant's employee admitted that their store had a policy to check people out, and obtain their money, before any effort was made to clean known spills. At the end of the trial the jury awarded damages for past and future damages and the judge awarded sanctions for the various actions of the Defendant and their counsel.
